Day 24 - Carbonate cake

For dredge 50 we hauled in a bunch of white rocks - carbonates!

Carbonate rocks aren’t all that useful to us because they don’t store any information on volcanism. But they are still cool. Each lump of carbonate is a bunch of shells that have been smooshed up over hundreds of thousands of years.

We processed a lot of limestone today, so it was fitting that our dessert looked like one.
