Day 18 - RIP Snappy
Today we lost a friend who brought us so many rocks and happiness into the surface world. While you were an inanimate object - and remain so - we will miss the glint of sun off your chrome. You were more than just a glorified basket. Rest in peace, Snappy, may there always be rocks in your belly and sand in your pants.
We are currently down 2/6 dredges. Fingers crossed no more suffer the same fate as Snappy. A second dredge was lost to the Pocklington ridge on the Louisiade Plateau, called Gummy, but that guy was a jerk.
Coco CHANEL
Greeting us in the rock classification lab this morning was a coconut:
We've pulled some pretty interesting rocks out from the seafloor - ignimbrite, diorite, serpentinite, and... coconut 🌰 Thanks to @EClennett for filling in the rock classification sheet 😂 We're calling it "Coco @CHANEL" #RVInvestigator @EarthByteGroup pic.twitter.com/TmF2NbKYYA

Tiramisu
I’ve been quietly updating the food porn section of the website without mentioning it in my daily post, but this tiramisu was sooo good I have to share it here:
