Dredges

A final flurry of dredges before the science deadline saw 5 dredges in 24 hours.

It all paid off - we got some great basalt samples from two seamounts in the Lord Howe hotspot chain, and some beautifully preserved coral.

It's difficult to get excited for coral, but the fossilised remains in dredge 55 are particularly well preserved.

This evening we gave chef a break and cooked a BBQ on deck 5.

Dredgebusters premiere + trivia
